Riding?

I'm wondering if anyone knows anyone who owns, boards or rides horses in the Calgary area. I'm looking for a stable to volunteer at, preferably within a half hour drive of my house. I would prefer a smaller stable where I will be appreciated instead of looked down on as I was at the last stable I worked. Can you guys help me spread the word? Stables, especially small ones, are notoriously hard to find through normal means like google or the phone book.

Taylor's science exam

So the kid here just asked me whether a cotton ball travelling at 3 times the speed of a bullet would hurt more than a bullet travelling at half the speed a bullet normally does. With a piece of paper and about 2 minutes, I said 'Assuming the same shape, deformability and size, the cotton ball would hurt more if it weighed 1/36th the bullet's mass or more.'
You see, the kid is supposed to be studying science; basic kinetic energy and momentum are part of grade 10 cirriculum right? Anyway, I told him he could have known that himself if he'd just go study. I was proud of myself - pretty sure he isn't going to listen to me anyway, but I thought it was a neat way to nag.
