Oct. 5th, 2010 02:09 pmHello Internets!
Last Thursday I had nothing to tell you but now I have a whole bunch of stories!
I spent an amazing weekend in Wellington with a bunch of fangirls. They were all super nice and accepting and even though I didn’t know many of them, the weekend was full of inside jokes, giggling and ~serious discussions~ about fandom.
jocondite,
shihadchick,
blademistress and I shared a room at a hotel near the botanic gardens and stayed up waaaay to late chatting and wrestling every night. (There is nothing purer than the love of a man for his headless zombie chicken!)
Ummm there will probably be more on Get Together later, but really, suffice to say it was awesome. Also, Calucciland actually lived up to the hype.
It was tinged with a little melancholy since it was the last time I am going to see Wellington, but it was definitely an appropriate send off and I couldn’t have better memories of the place than that. It was also really great to get to say goodbye to
nmarlow.
In other news, on Friday right before we left, I got mail. The new Shihad CD! I won it in a newspaper contest! Hai I’m in New Zealand winning your prizes :p. Needless to say I shall cede it to C when I get the music from it as I feel she has more right to it and will appreciate it more and then I won’t have to pack it.
C and I have successfully earned enough money from selling her stuff to pay for two tickets to the Adam Lambert concert the Sunday before I go (DON’T JUDGE ME!) and we have ~awesome~ unicorn skirts I made that we’re going to destroy with glitter for the occasion. Anyone who wants us to wear them at work should make a donation to breast cancer this week. Let us know and we’ll send you a picture (or at least a link to a picture).
( Fighting with insurance companies updates )
Con-G has 500 people signed up as interested in attending w00tstock at Con-G. If you would seriously consider coming to w00tstock in Guelph, Ontario in February, sign up. And spread the word; We’ve gotten 500 people in 2 weeks but we need at least 700 for the guys to consider it seriously. W00tstock at Con-G
This weekend C and I are going on a roadtrip to Taranaki because I haven’t been there and she has friends there. Hopefully the weather will be nice and I can finally cash in on my Christmas present of trail riding on the beach.
So much still to do in New Zealand!
Tonight I start looking for work at home more seriously.
