Yup, really need Christmas decorations. I think I'll raid the stock. And next week I'm going to decorate my house while my parents are gone.
Okay, flist, I need you to tell me how unreasonable I'm being.
Background: when I was in Germany, my Mom and Amy took everything in my room and threw it either in the closet or the basement so it would not get destroyed by the 4-year-olds. Fine, I'm grateful for that and gracious enough to not mind the kids in my room.
Yesterday: Mom is doing the laundry and she cleans all the sheets. I get home and agree to help her make all the beds and when we get to my room, she pointedly comments that I could sleep there now since our house guests left on Sunday. I said no, which led to a big argument.
Am I being totally unreasonable? There's nothing in that room that is mine right now! I was planning on slowly moving back in and washing Amy's sheets when I was done so she could have her room back before she gets hom for the holidays. The other thing is, the cleaning lady comes on Thursday so I was going to wait until after that since the process of me moving back in will invariably require me to cover the floor with all the stuff that is currently in the closet. Mom pointed out that I could leave all my stuff in Amy's room and just sleep in my room but I've been living with everything I own in my bedroom ever since I started university. It's just too weird to have all my clothes and stuff in the room down the hall! Plus I was finally starting to get settled in Amy's room and her view as well as her bed are nicer than mine.
The end of the story is that I rather violently moved some of my clothes and essentials into my room, vaccuumed it myself, moved the bed because it didn't feel right in the corner and it was more reasonable to take my anger out on the heavy oak frame than by having a tantrum and struggled to calm down.
So I guess what I'll be doing for the next few days is moving back into my room. It feels so weird guys!
The paper this morning said "Taser victim studied English". Sure glad I didn't study English.

Date: 2007-11-28 03:11 am (UTC)Thanks Am, you're a pal. Unfortunately Mom has already driven me out. I'm going to try and put all your stuff sort of back where I found it, but I may forget a few things.
