Jun. 24th, 2008 10:45 amSo I woke up yesterday planning to actually get work done, hit the power button on my laptop and got 'system disk read error. Press cntrl-alt-del to restart.'
Oh yeah, not a happy camper. So I spend most of the day waiting for it to run through its error sequence, try a bunch of things to see if I can fix it, and eventually give in and take it to Best Buy, where it's under warranty. They tell me it's likely a hard drive failure and they'll try to recover my data. If the harddrive needs replacing, it'll be 3 weeks before I get it back. So much for my productivity. In the meantime, I reformatted Mom's computer so at least that's one thing off the list of things to do. Oy.
Today I will try, without any of my internet data, to actually start contacting potential employers. At least my resume was on my memory stick so I'm not completely high and dry.
ETA: Apparently my harddrive is completely blank. Shit.
