I just found The Evil Overlord's handbook because of a fic that ghostj sent me. Why has no one told me about this before! Unless maybe you didn't want to give me the instruction manual that would ensure you could not defeat me when my plans to take over the world are enacted.

ETA 35 is the best so far, 63 and 102 are also hilarious. 99, 112 and 122 are good ideas. I don't get 119 and the rest I'll have to read after I get some work done.

I've had the original Top 100 Things I'd Do As An Evil Overlord (from which that manual is mostly derived) on my website for years. It is very good information to have. :)

According to the main website, this list was started by a group of Trekkies watching DS9 and they created a mailing list about it and compilied ot over the next 5 years or so. A similar list, entitled 'what not to do if you capture James Bond' was created in parallel by a different group and was inspired by a Saturday Night Live skit.
I have never see the Top 100 Things I'd Do as an Evil Overlord list though; It's possible many of the contirubtors to the lists took ideas from it.

Have I met you or did you just randomly stumble across my journal? I find the idea that anyone would randomly come across my journal slightly astounding because it's pretty boring and whiny in my opinion, but you do have a surprising number of interests in common with me. Feel free to hang out here; I like meeting new people.

I think someone should do a movie, where the bad guy has to follow all those rules.

However, then the bad guy would definitely win.

That would be too funny! Where they have to carry around the rulebook and follow all the rules and they could have underlings that would chide them if they started to do anything that disobeyed the rules.
Oh, and we'd have to make sure that every rule comes up at least once in the movie. I'd probably make a running joke of the animal one.

Nothing wrong with the bad guy winning for a change.
